Enjoying what you do will encourage you to continue your journey with strength and excitement.
This is why we take the time to understand each client as an individual—figuring out their learning process, strengths, goals, and obstacles. We create a training plan that best meets their needs, providing a learning environment where we work on coordination, rhythm, memory, strength, balance, and mobility, all while challenging the mind-body connection.
Walk us through the moment when you knew your current field was your calling. Where were you? What happened?
I found my calling in this field while coaching at a CrossFit gym. Injured clients would come to class wearing knee braces, back braces, and KT tape. They weren’t willing to stop exercising to rehabilitate their injuries, so they simply trained through the pain. Without fail, these clients needed more time off as the injury worsened.
I later found myself dealing with a minor injury, thinking, “There has to be a better way!” I then discovered a coaching modality focused on posture correction, rehabilitation, and injury prevention—all through movement and exercise. I became a practitioner in this field and expanded it to incorporate other modalities for a total connection.
What is it about your field that brings you joy?
It brings me joy to see clients move without pain when they thought pain was their “new normal.” To train children and see their performance improve and confidence grow. To see a client run after being told they couldn’t. To help someone avoid surgery when it was their only option. These joyful moments are immeasurable in my practice.
Who do you serve? Who is your ideal client?
We serve individuals of all athletic abilities, including those with injuries, surgeries, or fusions. Our training benefits everyone from ages 7 to 107. It’s never too early or too late to train for longevity! Our ideal clients are those interested in learning about their bodies and self-healing. They trust the process and will reap the benefits.
Why did you choose to serve the people you serve? What makes you so passionate about serving your clients?
Each client has unique goals—whether it’s a 7-year-old excelling at soccer, a senior struggling to reach the top shelf, or an athlete looking to gain a competitive edge. We are passionate about helping clients from all demographics, because we understand how important these goals are to their quality of life.
What has been the greatest obstacle you’ve had to overcome as an entrepreneur? What advice can you give to help entrepreneurs on the rise overcome or even avoid this obstacle?
The greatest obstacle I’ve faced is understanding the ebb and flow of our business—how additional marketing is needed just before the slow periods and how to take advantage of the busy seasons. Entrepreneurs should focus on understanding the business cycle and strategically plan to be prepared for both slow and busy times.
What has been the greatest personal challenge you’ve had to overcome in your entrepreneurial journey? How did you overcome it?
To ensure focus, I plan my work and work my plan. Keeping a detailed schedule of both business and personal tasks on one platform allows me to see my day in its entirety. Life happens, but I always go back to my schedule for peace of mind.
Who are you when the workday is over and the clients are gone?
I’m a curious human, always interested in learning more about the body and mind—even in my free time.
Entrepreneurship is no easy feat. What are your go-to techniques and tools to stay focused and keep your momentum?
To stay focused, I plan my work and stick to my schedule. By having everything laid out, I can see my day and manage my tasks effectively, knowing that I can always return to my plan when things come up.
What has been THE BEST business decision you’ve made for yourself?
After opening the gym in 2019, we brought on a personal trainer who had a wealth of knowledge in functional training, martial arts, breathwork, and more. His thirst for knowledge and positive energy stood out, and bringing him onto the team has been the best decision. He is now helping clients optimize their movement, mentoring with Johnny, and contributing to the success of the business.
What impact do you hope to leave behind? How do you want to be remembered?
I want to be remembered as someone who cares—someone who didn’t give up on finding solutions to clients’ movement problems.
Within your professional area of expertise, what is a MUST KNOW tip or piece of advice you want to give our readers?
It’s never too early or too late to train for longevity.
What are your measurements for success and wellness?
I measure success by analyzing before-and-after photos and videos from initial assessments, as well as comments from clients who are now able to do things they thought were no longer possible—running, walking to the mailbox, or reaching overhead without pain.
Think about your circle of influence. If you could gift more visibility to just one entrepreneur from this network, who would it be and why?
Dr. George Love, an Acupuncture Physician, Doctor of Asian Medicine, and Qigong Master, who has a therapy room within our facility. His work is transformative, and his approach aligns perfectly with our philosophy of holistic well-being.
