Get ready to soar with Avianca's latest expansion into the Americas! The airline is rolling out three exciting new direct connections linking the United States with Latin America, set to take flight on March 30.

Travelers can now book their tickets on these game-changing routes: A four-times-weekly service between Tampa and Colombia's vibrant capital Bogotá, offering 1,440 seats weekly for sunshine-seeking adventurers. For those eyeing Colombia's innovative city of eternal spring, daily flights will connect Fort Lauderdale and Medellín with 2,520 weekly seats. Rounding out the trio, a daily service between Miami and San José will let travelers easily hop between Florida's magic city and Costa Rica's cultural hub, also providing 2,520 seats per week.

These new routes further strengthen Avianca's robust network, making it easier than ever to bridge the Americas with convenient, direct connections.

"After 2024, in which we consolidated the most extensive network in our history and transported the highest number of passengers in our 105 years, we are thrilled to continue strengthening connectivity to and from the United States. We are also excited to introduce Tampa as a new destination. We will keep working with authorities, airports, and partners to ensure the success of these routes," said Rolando Damas, Avianca’s Sales Director for North America, Central America, and the Caribbean

Tampa Takes Flight: A Historic Gateway to Latin America

In a landmark move, Avianca's new Tampa-Bogotá route marks a transformative moment for Florida's Gulf Coast travelers. This pioneering connection opens up a world of possibilities, offering Tampa-based passengers seamless access to over 75 destinations spanning 25 countries throughout the Americas and Europe.

Through Bogotá's strategic hub, travelers can easily explore 25 Colombian cities, from the innovative spirit of Medellín to the Caribbean charm of Cartagena, the salsa rhythms of Cali, the untouched beauty of Quibdó, the island paradise of San Andrés, and the Amazon gateway of Leticia.

The significance of this route resonates deeply with Tampa International Airport's leadership. CEO Joe Lopano emphasized the historic nature of this connection: "The significance of a new Avianca route between Tampa and Bogota is enormous, being TPA's first to South America in nearly 50 years and a long-awaited nonstop connection. We expect this flight to be popular with both business travelers and those connecting with loved ones, as well as adding an exciting and vibrant new travel destination to our route map. We look forward to celebrating the launch of this service with Avianca."

This groundbreaking route not only bridges communities but also opens up unprecedented business and leisure opportunities for travelers on both sides of the Caribbean.
